Who we are

The Bower (the "Service") is a resident portal provided to tenants and staff of The Bower. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, unit number, and encrypted password.
• Residential activity — maintenance requests you submit, amenity bookings you make, packages delivered to you, messages you send, guest passes you issue, and rent payment history.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and fraud prevention (rate limiting, suspicious-login detection).

How we use your information

• Deliver the Service — show your dashboard, route your maintenance requests, process rent payments.
• Communicate with you — transactional emails for rent receipts, repair status, welcome messages.
• Protect the Service — detect and block suspicious sign-in activity.
• Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from law enforcement and regulators.

How we share your information

We share your information with your property's management team so they can respond to your requests. We share payment information with Stripe, Inc. solely to process transactions. We send email through Resend. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your lease is active, plus seven years afterwards for tax and compliance reasons. You may request deletion of personal data that is not required by law to retain.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting hello@tryparsely.co. Residents of California, the EU, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have additional rights under those laws, which we honor.

Security

Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA-256 (100,000 iterations, 128-bit salts). Transport is secured with TLS. Sessions are stored in HttpOnly, SameSite cookies. Failed sign-in attempts are rate-limited per IP and email.
